I got rly excited when I learned that Kazumi Totaka was a part of a jazz fusion band (I think he had a big hand in the songwriting too) so this is pretty exciting, I love learning about stuff like this!! I'll definitely be doing a deep dive now

Yeah I've been kinda thinking about this too, I'm sort of hoping they'll keep lending their IP to be developed by third parties and maybe we'll see some streaks of creativity and experimentation there in bits and pieces, rather than expecting them in their first party stuff. But idk.

Always love seeing these! Definitely put me onto some cool OSTs I may not have checked out otherwise. I've enjoyed the series

I had a similar-ish one with being introduced to Kendrick through the Taylor Swift song he was on back in the day. Not the best way to start getting into Kendrick Lamar haha

I thought they looked a bit familiar! I think maybe I've seen you post the one with the darker sky at one point, cool shots!

Hell yea for those power lines looking sick as hell

The game is probably the best looking, sounding, and best controlling Mario Kart ever - the music and visuals are beautiful, characters are expressive and fun - I really like it. I can kinda see the argument of the game not having much enticing about it after seeing the world/doing the cups though.

Semi-related question, do you plan on releasing these all in one package? An album or maybe even a game asset package?

Love what I've been hearing so far - I'd love to have it in an album-esque format when October is all said and done. :)

I'm the same way, I even tend to prefer not to play-test games I make music for so I can wait and experience the games in full when they're done.

It's a thing for PSP's XMB via homebrew I think so I wouldn't be too surprised if it's available in some form for PS3 too.

I think he talks about this a little bit in an interview he has recently with Nolan Brewer - I can't remember the timestamp but he talked about how they "ruined" a lot of the compositions esp. in the rhythm sections/drum parts. That much I can recall.

Yeah I mean, if you can literally vanish from existence at any point during the job that doesn't really seem like you'd be very qualified for a vital position like that. Doesn't sound very reliable to me!

Just listened to "Cloudbusting" from that album earlier today, absolutely stellar stuff.

My fave Kate Bush album will (probably) always be "Never for Ever" but this is closely behind it.

Ah okay! The "heck" version might be the EU/PAL release, I remember "Hell" being said in my US version growing up. My somewhat overly strict parents were not a fan of that part haha.
September 16, 2025 at 4:34 PM
Is there a version of the original DK rap with "hell" replaced by "heck"? I thought that was only a thing in later renditions like the Smash Bros one or something.
