If there's no measurable perf advantage to using the node apis, then the preference should be on the standard apis instead

Well, thanks to a jammed control arm nut he only managed to get one side done today. But spring safely out. Tomorrow he'll do the other side then it's on to rebuilding and reassembling.

Yeah, He went and bought himself some proper spring compressors yesterday. Pulling the springs and removing the control arms should be the last thing before he can start rebuilding them.

Yeah, the rubber boots are all gone lol. Luckily he has a brand new set of control arms sitting here. His next challenge: removing the springs. He's a bit nervous about it.

... If you ever need to take your car into the shop for service, don't ever complain about the labor costs. Sometimes what they charge is nowhere near enough for the actual effort required.

The bold/pin that extends up into the knuckle has a tendency to rust and seize up over time, requiring a large amount of direct force to break free. They have special tools for this stuff and, as I mentioned, we ended up breaking three of them just trying to get this one side free...

For those unfamiliar. This is the control arm ball joint on the front left suspension system of my son's car. He decided to rebuild the suspension himself. It's an old car (older than he is) and it's likely never been serviced correctly... Especially given how jammed up it was.
