I think my next book will be in an 11" x 11" format and done all in 2 page spreads. I'm looking to get 19x24 pads of bristol and drawing the spreads 11.5"x23" piece of paper (just slightly larger then print size).

I try to keep my love of the act of drawing fresh by challenging how I make my work. I try to stay out of a drawing comfort zone so that the drawing process feels daring/scary. I draw most pages with very little of it pre-drawn, more like straight to ink. I give room for "happy accidents" to happen.

Drawing them on 11"x22" paper probably makes more sense so I don't have a re-size step in the process.

They will be a hassle to scan so I might have to look into photographing them.

I just wish I had embraced this drawing philosophy when I was younger.

I LOVE a good hand drawn line. Certain tools give me lines that I love. I also love the random marks I get from drybrush drawing. And I sometimes draw with sticks and twigs.

I have no idea who I'm posting this for. It was just something I felt like putting out there.
