100% agree with this, tho tbf I think a lot of points that Jake brings up are still directionally true, just not to the extreme of zero-sum

There are a lot of corporate decisions being made that come at the cost of various parts of Magic, and even if it's not zero-sum it can still be disheartening

i would recommend popping out gy to be visible in the screenshot

you can also make a custom token named "Land Drops Remaining: 1" or something like that if you want everything to be in the screenshot

you can start a local game instead of connecting to a server with Ctrl-Shift-L (or "Start Local Game..." in a menu somewhere)

you can initialize this game with any number of players, including 1.

a common sentiment I've seen about MagicCon Atlanta has been "they shouldn't host events in the South"

while i understand where this comes from(feeling like The South™️ is hostile to queer ppl) it fails to acknowledge an often ignored part of our community: people of color(specifically black folks)

and theoretically winning round 15 and two of (4, 8, 11) would've gotten me to 12 wins for top 8 (though obviously my tournament path would look different)

i do think that there were at least 2 losses (rounds 10 and 14) that were unavoidable, and one that seemed pretty hard (round 16)

and at least 3 more (rounds 4, 8, and 11) that i would've had to both play tighter *and* get a little lucky to win

but i definitely could have won round 15

was thinking about my pt eoe run again

my thoughts last sunday were kinda "it wasn't my tournament to win", as i had quite a few stockfish-would-lose moments

but after some more reflecting i do think i still could have top 8'd w/ better play

magic is pretty hard

still pretty happy w/ my play tho
