You can buy kits that are pretty good starting points! You don't have to start with all-grain; you can get dry malt extract, which is basically dehydrated beer-base.
If you like cider, a cider kit is actually the easiest way to learn the basics.
Also, buy silicone hoses! Way better than vinyl.

I'm planning for my next book, Oath and Memory, to release in 2026, probably mid-year.
It's a high fantasy adventure about an alien from another world, mysteriously banished, trying to recover the key to his lost memories of home (from the hoard of a preening, avaricious dragon).
