I never had any hands on experience with the actual toy, and assumed it was a surrogate to read/tell stories to kids - that the story of the cartoon originated there?

I never quite manage to convince anyone of the peculiar scope and complexity of the Teddy Ruxpin cartoon. The songs were awful, and the vibe was kind of mushy, but there was an overall epic story to the series. Seriously!

Yeah with all that brown, you might need to punch up the shadows and highlights. And maybe the button colours?
