Imho I think some writers are becoming a bit obsessed w/ subverting expectations to a point they’re afraid of being Predictable when in reality
Predictable endings Don’t ALWAYS Equal Bad endings.

I'm beginning to believe that ATLA is impossible to adapt well into live-action. It NEEDS to be animated. Because even if you could get all the writing, acting, and CGI 100% perfect, somehow, you still have to contend with the actors aging, in a story that's supposed to take place over a year.

Something that made me laugh during Tales of the TMNT S2 is they re-introduced Irma as a character but this time around for her design they ditched her glasses & tbh she looks more like an unused potential April design as a byproduct 🤣
