Ok so out of curiosity looked it up and 2020 Academy Award for Best Actor went to Jaoquin Phoenix for Joker. This was the Endgame year. 100% should've been RDJ

The real challenge is in selecting the mattress cover/case/enclosure. It's partly aesthetic, but also structural. But also you can't buy one until you're sure you've got all your layers selected. If you get 8" coils and 3" comfort layer but then realize you want 1" foam topper, it changes cover size

But Dunlop is also just denser than talalay - it's less conforming; firmer. So for the DIY build, I got instead a 3" layer of soft (19 ILD) talalay latex to put on top of the coils.
So 8" high-quality coils, 3" soft talalay latex, half the cost of a similar build. We'll see how it feels in a week.

For the comfort layer, the Saatva had 3" of 22-23 ILD Dunlop latex. By itself this isn't necessarily bad. But for us it didn't work. Part of the reason is because the mattress is tufted; the layers are compressed, and so tufting makes the mattress firmer than its components might be otherwise.

Our base will be the 15.5 gauge Texas Pocket Springs QuadCoil 8" pocketed springs, which also have side edge support (13.5 gauge). TPS QuadCoil is softer than the Saatva Latex Hybrid's main coils (14.75 gauge), while also offering even better edge support than the Saatva (13.75). That's 2 Ws.

Ok so, an update: we're returning the Saatva. It's too firm for us. If it had been perfect, we'd keep it. But knowing what I know now, I'm just gonna build our mattress for half the cost and it'll suit us better.

This was, iirc, the 'big one' as far as Star Wars goes. Viral online campaign to get him early access, etc, including Mark Hamill. There have been many others since.
