Basically millions of people in this country live by these rules in order to avoid even the appearance of impropriety and this fuck just shat all over them
My wife is a staffer in the Mass state legislature and can't accept gifts over $50. Sometimes there's contests at the state house with prizes and they're like a $49 gift card. A *half a billion dollar* gift to the *president* is inherently problematic whether there's a visible upfront return or not.
Corruption requires explict quid pro quo. It is not corrupt to take an action that aligns with the interest of a person who gives you a gift, unless the official action was in direct response to that gift--a bribe. Terms matter. Accuracy and fairness matters. Regardless of what social media wants.

Give me real, even if it’s raw. I trust that way more.

I’d rather deal with someone who’s straight-up & isn’t afraid to confront an issue head-on. At least you know where they stand, and they’re not hiding how they feel. The non-confrontational ones you gotta watch—they’ll smile in your face but hold onto things in silence.

I trust confrontational people a lot more than non-confrontational ones, because they have no problem raising issues, speaking up and being honest up front.
