Seattle. Take photos of bugs, mushrooms, birds, stuff like that.
This is the first time I've ever felt optimistic about local politics.

It probably looks like a rage room at Seattle Times HQ right now.

I wonder how many of the NIMBYs throwing temper tantrums are really going to move to the east side?

My toddler has better control of her emotions than Seattle conservatives.

I scrolled the Cascade expenditures and it's unhinged. The attack ad spend in the KC Executive race... wow. I won't give those east side spandex warriors a penny.

Compare it to other advocacy orgs that spend their budget on real work and direct lobbying for the cause. The difference is wild.

I was always put off by the cost of their events. They have big money corporate sponsors, but registration is very expensive in proportion to their expenses. Like the Emerald City Ride or Seattle to Portland.

I just get wet. Shorts and tshirt with a 32 Degree base layer long sleeve tee, warm socks, and gloves. I'm going to need to shower at work either way because I'm sweaty.

One way with street parking would be ideal. Double the sidewalk width on the water side and you can still park there to take kids tidepooling. The sidewalk is too narrow still, and the road is that awkward "too narrow for 2-way but still really wide" width. Wasted space in my opinion.

I walk it with a battery powered brush trimmer a couple times a year. It could really use a small team of folks, one in front cutting the blackberry and a couple following behind dabbing triclopyr on the stems with a brush.

That's awesome, thanks!
November 9, 2025 at 4:58 AM
That would be awesome! You can get involved through wdgtrails.org. The organization needs more cyclists. The trails are multi-use currently but there is HEAVY resistance to advertising that fact.

Kind of ironic because Sawant campaigned with Jill Stein, who supports Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

We got priced out of the 3rd floor at Westlake Park like 5 or 6 years ago and it's still vacant. That what happens when private equity owns everything. Only the hypothetical value of the property matters, not actual revenue.

I worked on that block until recently and it had a high traffic volume. Lots of car-based drug deals, the alley coming from the parking lot was a drive-thru for fent pills. And there was a guy who would park for a lunch meth smoke session every day. Plus heavy commute time traffic.

I think Parks staff are great and they shouldn't take heat for Parks leadership not taking their jobs seriously.

I'm curious, do the counters have an opportunity to challenge the signature after seeing the ballot?
November 8, 2025 at 1:38 AM
It's just like Lake Spokane Street, which persisted for years and didn't get drained until the road was redesigned. As long as cars can get around it SDOT won't care.
November 7, 2025 at 3:27 PM
Why don't you want votes counted? We don't need MAGA in Seattle.
November 7, 2025 at 6:35 AM
Exactly.
November 5, 2025 at 4:52 PM
The social contract will have been broken for sure.
November 5, 2025 at 4:52 AM
I love the idea of Seattle and the pockets of progressivism and diversity, but the heart of this city is rotten.
November 5, 2025 at 4:50 AM
No single family homes.
November 5, 2025 at 3:33 AM
Good work!
November 5, 2025 at 3:17 AM
Yeah, but is she blocking apartment construction? We all know that's the REAL way to create urban forests.
November 2, 2025 at 4:38 PM
It's the silent generation destroying our society. Most of the people responsible for where the world is today make the boomers look young. Trump, McConnell, Biden, Pelosi, etc. They're all in the silent generation. It's so depressing.
