I mean I get it, if the tariff was only on wood, then the cost of wood will rise.

But if the tariff is a blanket add on everything, then.... wouldn't everything rise?

And if things are shipped back and forth between countries with blanket tariffs, does it get added multiple times?

and if tariffs are sweeping, then prices on everything will rise, yes?

But we have a lot of recent history proving it, don't we?

In the world we live in, domestic prices will raise to just below the price of the imported product because there is 'profit in the margins'

Is that not a commodity price raise? Is that not inflation?

I mean, it is telling that we think so poorly of corporations that we assume prices will rise.

so educate me. because it seems to me that charging an American company to bring in an imported product causes the price of that imported product to rise.

Now in a sane world, domestic prices would stay the same and make people buy domestic.
