Bunch of new people following recently, I guess another uptick in BSky users. To get you started, may I recommend @deck.blue to you. If you used Tweetdeck back in the day on Twitter, you'll feel right at home.

Didn't expect to go to Brno, CZ, wander around the Christmas Markets, and bump into a local blues band on the main stage, of all things. And even more, they rocked. Blues is my favorite genre, and Band of Heysek is legit. Made my night, would see again. Great job guys!

Just discovered another helpful AI use case - figuring out which company a recruiter is representing when they give you *just* enough info to try an entice you, but without identifying the actual company. Decision-making gets a lot easier once you know.

Dear President Zelenskyy,

I hope you realize that I, and tens of millions of Americans, stand with you and the Ukrainian people—and firmly against Donald Trump, JD Vance, and the Republican Party.

So now that both the House and Senate have passed the Epstein files bill, are we going to see another big signing ceremony in the Oval office? You know, the one where Trump scratches his name on the binder and then displays it to the press, with a crowd of Rs standing behind him?

Release the files, Piggy!
Bad people support him.

Per @wired.com, USDA data shows that :
* ~90% of SNAP recipients are American-born citizens. 1.1% of recipients are refugees, and 3.3% are other noncitizens.
* the majority who receive SNAP benefits are whites
* Deep-red states like AL, FL, MS, & LA are among the highest % of food stamp recipients

Mike Johnson continues the months-long paid vacation at taxpayer expense for the House, all while shafting taxpayers by increasing heathcare costs, & forcing our military, ATC, TSA, & other workers to work for free. Meanwhile I'm giving money to my TSA-employed child so they can exist.

This whole article is 🔥 and worth your time to read. It truly sucks that people like @bedoyausa.bsky.social are not in the service of We The People any longer.
Former FTC Commissioner @bedoyausa.bsky.social's new piece in @newrepublic.com gives a glimpse of what’s at stake for Americans if SCOTUS allows the president the authority to fire FTC officers without cause.
How I Became a Populist
My time at the Federal Trade Commission—before Donald Trump fired me—totally changed the way I see our political divide.

As a former print and online subscriber for 30 years, this is the direct result of Bezo's asskissing of the current administration. I seem to recall >250k subscribers left a year ago, and now they're under 100k? Wow.

Every bit of news from late last year until this week about how the @washingtonpost.com is being run just further confirms that canceling my 30-year subscription was the correct move. Kathrine Graham would be ashamed.

If I'm one of these flag officers who left my command to travel around the world then forced to sit & listen to a drunk weekend news anchor & a senile old man ramble on about nothing of value, I'm SOOO pissed inside. But I''d sit there unmoving & unresponsive until it's over, then go back to my job.

"Shambolic" is such a great word, and unfortunately applies widely to much of the world today, especially here in the US.

Color me shocked. SHOCKED, I say. 🙄
“Upon closer inspection, Trump’s trade deals aren’t nearly as impressive as they sound,” Rogé Karma argues. “In fact, they aren’t really trade deals in the traditional sense, and they might not benefit the U.S. at all”:
So, About Those Big Trade Deals
If you read the fine print, the “concessions” from America’s trade partners don’t add up to much.

@washingtonpost.com - This photo, currently the top-center photo on your home page, is not "tanks positioned bla bla". It's clearly a wrecked tank storage or repair yard. The front tank is missing a tread, and workers on the right are laying out treads while a crane lifts parts in the background.

Incredibly sad to think that all the childhood shows that we grew up on, our kids grew up on - all sacrificed & killed by the all-time worst administration in US history. Counting, the alphabet, kindness, Sesame Street, Electric Company, Mr Rogers, Cookie Monster, Big Bird, Schoolhouse Rock - gone.

A surprise revelation in the Trump administration’s release of thousands of FBI records on Martin Luther King Jr. is that the Trump administration could similarly release thousands of FBI records on Jeffrey Epstein.
