Wrapping up my last day in @jboerckel.bsky.social’s lab with one last round of imaging with @gkotsaris90.bsky.social! Philly’s been home for six incredible years—full of science, laughter, and amazing friends. It’s a tough world, but the besties make it less scary. On to the next adventure ❤️

The latest version me was the worst of the whole franchise. The New Yorker described it as “expository blather” and there has never been a more perfect phrase for a movie.

I made it today too!

One problem we face today is how few people understand the science that helps us all. Some scientists are able to explain the importance of their work. @baym.lol of Harvard University is one of them. Science is for everyone, and benefits us all more than most people know.

Eadweard Muybridge did this cat motion study in 1887. Just posting it for everyone who thinks Edwardian and late Victorian cats had to sit still for 5 minutes to be photographed. ☺️ www.musee-orsay.fr/fr/oeuvres/c...
Series of black and white photos in four rows of six, each one capturing a fraction of a second of a shorthaired mackerel tabby cat running. It resembled the frames of a film.
