Finished a sewing project this week, just found an errant sewing needle left out from that project in a throw blanket on the couch by way of being stabbed in the arm. I need one of these.
If you like these, look up W. Avery & Son. Their little cases, known as Averies, were popular with Victorian stitchers and have since become collectors items. They came in all sorts of fanciful designs. Each designed to store sewing needles. Can find them on eBay, Etsy, and auction sites.

The pardon of violent insurrectionists by Trump gives them permission to attack our democracy and law enforcement again.

Today we passed a resolution condemning the pardons of Jan. 6th insurrectionists. All 34 DFL Senators voted yes, 22 Republicans voted no, and 10 Republicans didn't vote.
Today we moved a resolution to condemn President Trump for pardoning 1500 insurrectionists who tried to overthrow our democracy, giving them a green light to attack our nation and law enforcement again.

This is an easy call, but Republicans filibustered debate. We'll be back next week for a vote.

Today, the Judiciary Committee voted to condemn President Trump's mass pardons of 1,500 people convicted of violent crimes during the January 6 attack on our capitol.

Every DFLer voted yes to condemn Trump's dangerous pardons. Not one Republican did.

Trump’s agenda of chaos, confusion, and cruelty is hurting Minnesotans. His mass firings, reckless tariffs, and attacks on Medicaid are costing jobs and driving up costs for families.

Republicans need to decide: stand with Minnesotans or with Trump. #MNleg #TrumpChaos

The only thing that has changed since November budget forecast is that Trump is now the President. He has cost our state $160 million in his first 50 days in office.

Try to explain to a dog that their booties are not in fact torture devices but are supposed to keep her feet warm long enough to go to the bathroom when it's below 0. Ended up with all four booties in my pocket and a dog running back to the house because her paws got too cold.

I need to know how long the 400-mile trek took him. Did he have to walk back home after? Did he hunt and fish for food along the way?
“Rolette had to make the 400-mile trek from Pembina to St. Paul by foot.” Fun, rollicking read about the time a Democrat stole an actual bill and ran off with it to keep the capital in St. Paul instead of St. Peter. minnesotareformer.com/2025/01/13/d...
DFL walkout at the Legislature isn’t without precedent • Minnesota Reformer
He usually travelled by dogsled but, in the winter of 1857, scant snow meant that Rolette had to make the 400-mile trek from Pembina to St. Paul by foot.
