We were told that it only rains maybe 5 times a year in Fuerteventura. On the only day that it did during our stay we went for a late morning swim & watched very dramatic clouds roll in seemingly close to the horizon. It truly felt like we were swimming with the clouds!

Right after we ordered our supper, all of Orkney lost power. The butternut squash soup was now the only thing on the menu but still piping hot. I heard a diner watching the orders going by say, “Salad! I could have ordered that.” 🤣

I love that Lavatera is so easy to plant from seed. Tattered but strong, they managed to hold up in the strong Orkney winds. On my list to grow again next year!
