The sheep in Orkney are soaking up the rays before tomorrow’s winter solstice. Even at 3:05 PM the light here is breathtaking. Feeling grateful to live in this beautiful place. 💛

We were told that it only rains maybe 5 times a year in Fuerteventura. On the only day that it did during our stay we went for a late morning swim & watched very dramatic clouds roll in seemingly close to the horizon. It truly felt like we were swimming with the clouds!

Right after we ordered our supper, all of Orkney lost power. The butternut squash soup was now the only thing on the menu but still piping hot. I heard a diner watching the orders going by say, “Salad! I could have ordered that.” 🤣
