We experienced such pushback at the AP, even though we would explain that the figures were backed by documentation, had
proved reliable in past conflicts and aligned with what journalists could observe. Casualty statistics are disputed in every war, so showing the sourcing transparently is vital.

I met Pavel today at RFERL HQ in Prague. He is leading his Russia news team in the face of uncertainly. A lovely photo of Alsuk graces the wall from the day she was freed. They are just two of the extraordinary journalists of @RFERL working every day to bring truth to repressive countries. Bravo!!!
