The Conestoga Effect! New population figures out from Statcan today. Of Canada's 30 biggest cities (judged by municipality, not metro), Kitchener is the 2nd fastest-growing in Canada. A whole lot of that growth is the international student boom.

The unsheltered population in Waterloo Region has been increasing by 28% every year. Rent is such that people are being no-fault evicted and have no place to go.

And now the Cambridge and Guelph councils want permission from the Ford govt to clear encampments.
