The coziest time of year... nothing much to do but curl up with a good book in front of the fire.

This was a private commission to create my version of Beauty and the Beast, set in a library. The original painting is oil on panel and measures 24" x 32".

1. LLM-generated code tries to run code from online software packages. Which is normal but
2. The packages don’t exist. Which would normally cause an error but
3. Nefarious people have made malware under the package names that LLMs make up most often. So
4. Now the LLM code points to malware.
LLMs hallucinating nonexistent software packages with plausible names leads to a new malware vulnerability: "slopsquatting."
LLMs can't stop making up software dependencies and sabotaging everything
: Hallucinated package names fuel 'slopsquatting'

Art vs artist 2025.
I have just one photo of myself from this year that I think is not entirely awful, so here it is.

Shoutout to commission clients who send crude mockups and stick figure drawings to get across the idea of what they want for their comm. You don't need advanced art skills to communicate concepts.

everyone dislikes genai in games, but kids and story-focused players the most.

sounds like we'll be ok. just have to stay the course here and the "inevitable" new technology nobody likes will die. again.

We spoke to a dozen professional concept artists who are currently or have previously worked in game development about whether generative AI image tools have made their jobs any easier.

Zero said it did. Most said it made things harder.

Concept Artists Say Generative AI References Only Make Their Jobs Harder
“The ‘early ideation stages’, when worlds are being fleshed out by writers and artists, are literally crucial to the development of a game’s vision,” said one artist.

In the spirit of celebrating human made concept art I'm gonna start sharing some of the stuff I'm doing for my personal story Oraculus 🌙
these were my very first sketches and bashes, before I had any concrete sense of art direction other than that I wanted them to be roughly inspired by birds 🦚🦢

"concept artists can experiment with AI to make their lives easi-"

wrong

I smack you with Claire Hummel's immaculate and detailed understanding of costume design, which she got by studying historical references, which made her strong, which you will not become by relying on AI

If that's you, DM or email me! Details in bio.
