My dad has turned up this photo from a visit "many years ago" to the Forth Bridge. I think it's taken from what he calls the howff, just below track level, used by the maintenance workers.

I guess when you're engaged in a proverbially endless task, you need a wee cup of tea once in a while.

I’m mostly disappointed that it puts bad Jareds back in the limelight. Jared Kushner had gone back under a rock for a while and wasn’t dragging the good name Jared down.

Now he’s got these Saudis together to buy EA, bad Jareds are back.

I will not be mourning their loss, but I’m really worried about their inevitable use of generative AI and the impact it has on the rest of the industry.

Ps. Blade Runner was a standout in Westwood’s amazing catalogue. They were missed.

When Electronic Arts, or EA as it is now, gets the life sucked out of it by private equity and turns to AI to stretch out what goodwill they have left, what games will you miss?

When they shit on their legacy for thirty pieces of silver, which cancelled sequel will you mourn the potential of?

Standard “private equity” bullshit. Sell the assets at bargain prices to yourself, lease them back to the company at exorbitant rates, go Larry the liquidator on anything remaining of value while you trade on former glory before your reputation tanks.
