Do teens trying to get into bars still buy fake IDs?

And are they fake versions of Real IDs?

And do they cancel each other out?

Can we just call the fake Real IDs ... IDs?

We’re sleepwalking into a disaster
5 million-plus kindergartners now live in counties where schools don’t have “herd immunity” for measles, Washington Post reporters found.

WaPo also built a tool to look up your own county.

Exceptional, and alarming work by @laurenweberhp.bsky.social @caitlingilbert.bsky.social et al.

U.S. vaccination rates are plunging. Look up where your school stands.
Take a look to see what the kindergarten measles vaccination rates are in your area.

@ftrain.bsky.social I loved your recent interview in the Flaming Hydra podcast. You validated my concerns about ignoring harm reduction that I wrote about here and elsewhere. Thank you for confirming that I -- and Yuval Noah Harari -- are right to be alarmed www.jefflarche.com/2025/05/20/e...

I'm loving A Clüsterfünke Christmas, a satire of Hallmark Christmas films from 2021. Really good writing and characterizations. And as George S. Kaufman famously said, satire closes on Saturday night. It should be seen more widely and have a higher Rotten Tomatoes rating youtu.be/QtxapGLzL_s

I noticed whenever a show/movie decides to have these quiet, introspective moments like in Eternals, The Acolyte, or even Andor, that’s when people decide to call it “slow” or poorly written. It’s like no, you’ve just conditioned yourself to see action moments as the only valid thing.

It’s hard to believe that one man can cause so much stress, so much fear, so much pain and suffering…a man who took an oath to preserve and protect our Constitution. This man, who is inciting terror across our land, must be removed from office. In a sane world, it would happen immediately.

Casual reminder that the myth of “pulling yourself up by your bootstraps” is a cruel hoax designed to convince poor people from all walks of life that the injustices they face are a result of their own actions, rather than an oppressive system rigged against them.
