On the other hand it is adventurous in what it sets out to create and do. But if that’s what the post was implying, then he’s just wrong.

I hear you and I agree! I loved mando on my tv.

Disney abandoning Star Wars might work in our favor though if they can get money other ways and retain their creative control. Time for a radical revamp anyway. But Disney might keep it on a leash until it’s unsalvageable. Idk.

I could see this for sure. Because if their last attempt at opening a new story bubble doesn’t work, they don’t have much to fall back on.
November 25, 2025 at 6:17 PM
Oh that’s an interesting perspective. Plus now it doesn’t seem people really want to spend or have the funds to spend
November 25, 2025 at 6:15 PM
They just want that money! And those Emmys!

Fry is a trust proxy and I totally agree.

Remember that Star Wars has been experimenting with television at the same time the industry has experienced a pandemic, a writer's strike, and a streaming bubble pop. The movies have had different struggles.

We're lucky to have these stories at all.
"Star Wars hasn't been on the big screen since 2019!"

Had to look that up. (Which says something for a big fan.) And ... I don't think I care? There have been ample hours of screen entertainment since then. Does this distinction matter if you're not a studio exec or part of the movie ecosystem?

I want someone to map out for me the potential Star Wars trajectory outcomes after Mando and Grogu and after Starfighter. Give me the Doctor Strange options.
November 25, 2025 at 6:30 AM
Like, I’m with you: what does this look like? If the movie is a success, will we only get mando movies for the foreseeable future? Is the mandoverse/ahsoka hinging on the success of this film? If the movie doesn’t do as expected, what is the pivot? They wait until after starfighter, but then what?

yes but at this point i’m also wondering what that could look like. cause if they just decide no more films, meanwhile d+ is also dying. that’s what they took from solo and it hasn’t really paid off in the long run😭

if they place all bets on what WAS a success 5 yrs ago at the cost of the rest(even taking our theories of line up schedule changing from swcl till now)that choice could make or break their creative choices going forward. leaving acolyte airing where an audience for it can grow would have been safe

I know ppl are still interested so Maybe we’re still at milking the cow til it’s dry but it’s almost feels like we’re approaching beating a dead horse territory.

Right. Especially considering it was a success at the start of streaming and now they’ve made it clear streaming isn’t profitable. So taking a streamed show to the theaters doesn’t seem to be the best idea. But I guess we’ll have to see come March. Because what then?

Why do people who can’t read keep finding my posts

Sigh. This post is about the acolyte

I’m talking about the acolyte.

I’m not talking about stranger things 💀

Right

Most of the events transpire on Osha and Mae’s home planet, coruscant, or the unknown planet.
November 25, 2025 at 4:50 AM
Someone said “the acolyte is not as adventurous as it thinks it is” but does it think it’s adventurous or is that just what you were hoping? That show does not give grand adventure to me the way skeleton crew obviously does. I don’t think that was the point.
November 25, 2025 at 4:50 AM
Maybe so! Which is kind of crazy to think about for me as a fan. I never thought there would be a time where Star Wars wouldn’t be popular. But Star Wars also has a hand in its own longevity as much as fans

This makes me wonder how the new movies will do because I don’t really think it feels so different.
