Eagles beat writer -- with occasional college hoops coverage -- for @inquirer.com‬. Otherwise I’m probably watching The West Wing and eating ice cream.
They have to make penalties reviewable. The amount of missed PI calls that have impacted games the last few weeks is bonkers.

Kevin Willard may soon have his Rollie Massimino moment at Villanova, but does this Big 5 format make sense for all?

It doesn’t for Villanova, and the Wildcats aren’t alone: www.inquirer.com/sports/villa...

The new format for the City Series breathed some life into one that was getting stale, but it may have run its course because of financial concerns.

Acaden Lewis looks more and more comfortable every game, which is good news for Villanova: www.inquirer.com/college-spor...
The steady hands of Acaden Lewis guide Villanova past Temple and into Big 5 title game
Villanova dominated Temple in the second half behind the freshman point guard. Tyler Perkins led the Wildcats with 19 points.

Final: Villanova 74, Temple 56.

Villanova will finally play for a Big 5 Classic title. Wildcats get Penn in the final on Saturday.

St. Joe’s vs. Temple for third place.

Drexel vs. La Salle for fifth.

Acaden Lewis is taking over the game for Villanova. The freshman point guard is up to seven points, six assists (against zero turns), and four rebounds. Has three assists and three points during a 13-3 Villanova run. It's 48-42 Wildcats with 11:53 to go.

"Zion did the Broad Street Run all the way to Nova" is one of the worst rollouts I've ever witnessed. The Big 5 is dead.

Nine turnovers, 5-for-19 shooting from three-point range for Villanova. Bad recipe. Temple is making the Wildcats work for everything. Aiden Tobiason leads all scorers with a dozen as the Owls lead, 35-33, with 15:57 to go.

Halftime: Villanova 29, Temple 28. Rock fight of a first half. Winner goes to the Big 5 title game Saturday.

Pretty sluggish start offensively for Villanova. Its defense finally looks connected, but the offense is dragging. Credit to Temple, too, for making things difficult.

First Villanova student section rollout: "Rocky would've gone to Villanova."

No, I don't think he would have.

Villanova is running a zone press that has given Temple some trouble as Kevin Willard continues to look for ways to get his team's defense going.

The vandals in the viral video weren't throwing rocks at the home of Kevin Patullo, they were eggs, a police spokesperson said.

The incident happened around 2:50 a.m. Saturday, hours after the game.

Police confirm Kevin Patullo's home was egged over weekend
The Eagles enter Week 14 in third place in the NFC — and Patullo will remain the play-caller on offense.

“So you’re telling me there’s a chance?”

Sure, but not a good one for the Eagles to still get the No. 1 seed after Friday’s disaster: www.inquirer.com/eagles/eagle...
Can the Eagles still get the No. 1 seed in the NFC? Yes, but it will be difficult.
The Eagles are one of six teams in the NFC with eight or nine wins, and only two teams in the NFL have an easier schedule the rest of the way than the Birds.

#Eagles playoff scenarios!

NFC East magic number is 4--so any 4 PHI wins + DAL losses (10 combined games remaining).

For the NFC # 1 seed, here are all of the scenarios in which the Eagles finish 13-4 or 12-5 (excluding those that involve any further tie games)...

Jihaad Campbell did not play a single defensive snap for the Eagles yesterday.

Jalen Carter said he kept getting driven back. The Eagles adjusted by… taking him off the field. He played 70% of the snaps.

“It’s my problems to deal with,” he said. “I ain’t fitting to tell y’all what I’m going through.” www.inquirer.com/eagles/run-d...
