Either way, it’s hard to see how this improves the Rays franchise.

This dude will just not go away. His contract with the Rays will age out before it’s resolved legally and they can terminate it.
The worst contract in the history of the team.

I wonder what this termination means for not only the sale of the Rays, but for the negotiations with Hillsborough/Tampa to build a stadium to keep the Rays in Tampa Bay long term.
Seems that eliminating a stadium option would limit the new owners negotiating leverage.

That happened fast. Now let’s see how quickly they can get the stadium issue resolved. They’ve been vocal about staying in Tampa Bay, but would prefer to be on the Tampa side.
Lots of work to do and feathers to unruffle. They need cooperation from both sides.

Typical Rays trade…a little under the radar, hard thrower, with 3 more years of team control.
Looks like he’ll be a boost for their bullpen.
Now go get a lefty!

These guys coming back would as good as any deadline deal the team might make. A rotation ace, a gold glove caliber utility player who can hit a bit, and a quality reliever…maybe they can still add a power bat that can play corner OF. Fills a lot of needs.

Would both teams involved in the games moved from Tampa have to play the entire series in the neutral site or would only the Rays be punished for a situation that was out of the team and the fans control?

More legal issues for Wander Franco. The Rays sure seemed to have missed some red flags before they made long term commitments to him.
It’s a shame, but he was probably never who they thought he was.
