I’m curious if the people that had FanDuel as part of their basic cable are going to be asked to subscribe to a streaming service to watch Rays.
Certainly the cable providers won’t discount their rates to account for the extra out of pocket for their customers.
In the short term, MLB has a problem.

Gotta believe this is Josh Lowe’s last season in Tampa regardless.
If he’s productive, he’ll be traded to a contender at the deadline.
If he’s not or if he spends more time on the IL, they’ll cut bait on him next year.
They’ve been incredibly patient with him and he just hasn’t rewarded them yet.

They seem pretty similar statistically, both hit left handed, and both play multiple positions.
Neither are really consistent hitters, but I guess most importantly both are probably better than what I’ve seen projected at 2B since the Lowe trade, and lack of a Marte deal.
They’ll sign the cheapest.

Without clarity on where and when the stadium issue will be resolved, they don’t seem willing to do any contracts long term.
Also without a CBA, they don’t know if they’ll have a floor to spend to in 27’, so why bother now.
As a fan, I’m not expecting much in 26’

Other than a deadline fire sale.

The ultimate reach around…

Next year when the NCAA decides, in fairness, to add four more teams to the playoff schedule because the current structure is hard on the ‘good’ teams, the Pop Tarts and the Mayonnaise Bowls have to move up to the big time as well.
It wouldn’t be Bowl Season for the big networks without them!

Between Metcalf’s poor judgment and the poor judgment of the trainer who was overseeing TJ Watt’s lung mishap, the Steelers are likely going to be watching the playoffs from their living rooms.
You can’t lose your best players on both sides of the ball and expect any other result.
December 29, 2025 at 4:48 PM
And the Rays should have picked up his option and traded him too.
December 24, 2025 at 6:30 PM
That is first rate Dad punning right there…take note wannabes, that’s how it’s done!
December 24, 2025 at 2:49 PM
He’ll play like his hair is on fire…always max effort.
The results were mixed, but 110% every game was the expectation.
December 23, 2025 at 8:04 PM
It definitely kept the college football conversation interesting for well beyond January 1st.
December 22, 2025 at 6:42 PM
You got to believe that they’re going to acquire an everyday middle infielder before spring training begins.
Defensively, between injuries and time, Lowe is easily replaceable….where the power bat and team leadership come from is another question altogether. Those aren’t going to be replaced within.

Wonder what he says to his wife and kids when he gets home from a hard day at the office today?
“You won’t believe what my boss made me do today “
“I had my fingers crossed”
“Not including you guys”
December 21, 2025 at 9:26 PM
3rd time through a lineup seemed to be his kryptonite.
Change of scenery (different voices) and more consistent run support might do the trick.
December 20, 2025 at 8:04 PM
You’re going to like Baz.
He flashes Ace qualities, but sometimes he’ll be unable to put the ball where he wants it. Big single innings inflated his stats.
He can be dominant.
He’s a good kid and appears to be a good teammate too.
O’s gave up a lot of parts, but got what they needed.
December 20, 2025 at 7:46 PM
I’m still trying to figure out what part makes the least sense….two on the face mask and none in his mouth, his mouth being covered or that they are Miami’s colors….but admittedly, I am pretty old.
December 20, 2025 at 7:31 PM
He always aces his test, excepting sometimes he still confuses a rhinoceros with a hippopotamus…but a lot of people do that, in fact not many people know what they are actually not the same.
Many people say ‘no difference’, grown men with tears in their eyes say…’they are the same’.
High IQ men too.

It’s amazing that no matter how badly Chip Kelly flames out, he’s still a top candidate for other jobs within 48 hours.
Serious question, when was he last successful? Really successful.
December 20, 2025 at 2:44 PM
Thanks for making my point…nothing vs a lefty?
Never mind…there’s absolutely no reason to speculate about what kind of career a player with 70 major league at bats will have….we’re just going to have to wait and see.
The 2026 Rays team still needs help…more help than they needed yesterday.
December 19, 2025 at 9:37 PM
Off of Melton’s scouting report on MLB site:

“He lets the ball travel deep but still struggles to identify non-fastballs, which lead to struggles against breaking balls and southpaws, who have held him to a .228 average with just three homers in two-plus years as a pro”

Looks like a platoon player
December 19, 2025 at 8:50 PM
Everyone is all excited about the trades today, but if this is all they add, they might lose 100 games. Especially if McClanahan isn’t healthy.
They still need power in the OF, C and SS that can hit, and now SP and 2B.
A few years ago they had 3 minor league teams win their league, but who cares?
December 19, 2025 at 8:40 PM
As of right now, the on field product for the Rays is worse than it was yesterday.
Prospects look good on paper, but there’s no guarantee that any of them will get to the majors.
They gave up 4 MLB players, including an All Star for 6 prospects and a draft pick.
Too soon to pick the deal winners.
