Don't need no fascist groove thang, likes books and movies and cats and records and weird words and curious facts and also cats and did I mention cats?
This week's gleanings from @nycjayjay.bsky.social Jay Kuo's "Skeets and Giggles" edition of his 'Status Kuo' Substack...

That final play (BOT/T/OMER for 61 points, 3word/all7) was Rose's only major move. I was ahead before this thanks to RAMPIONS (all7, 38), QI/QI/IN (46, 2word on Q), and GRAINING (47, 2word/all7).

Rose brought these cat-butt fridge magnets home from work prior to her last day, which is Monday: retirement! This week's Scrabble photo. The game was a mirror image of last week's: one player cleared their rack on the final move, stranding the other player's tiles, and pulling out a win thereby.

I'll say again: Todd Rundgren and Heather Cox Richardson are converging.

Highlights include Rose scoring 53 by placing the Z on a double-letter square and forming ZE/ZA/EX, my scoring 46 by playing KRAY/YAD with the Y on a double-word square, Rose playing all 7 tiles on UNITIES/UT (38), and that final play: FIREBUGS for 45.

Scrabble last night was similar to a baseball game in which one team leads for most of the evening...until, at the very last moment, with a grand slam homer in the bottom of the 9th, the leader loses.

2) Rose played PERI/G/ON/OGEE/NAB (all 7) for 49.

And then TORULAE/TE (all 7) for 38.

I rallied with ZEN/YEZ/ODE (Z on double-letter)...but not enough (52).

Rose ended up winning, with me being the BUTT (final move) of the joke!

2) Rose played PERI/G/ON/OGEE/NAB (all 7): 49.

And then TORULAE/TE (all 7): 38

I closed the gap, nearly, with ZEN/YEZ/ODE (Z on 2x for 52).

But it wasn't enough. Rose won, and I was (final move) the BUTT of the joke.

You know how, sometimes, a show gets cancelled on one network only to be renewed on another?

The Scrabble continues! Every week (for background), Rose and I play Scrabble. I post a photo, and the board, and some comments on the game. (We play "nice rules" allowing in-game lookup.)
