We're about to spend the next few decades relearning the lessons of the past. Once masses of people die from measles or are disabled by polio, the people who did this are all going to wonder why these "eradicated" diseases have returned. It'll be the Tim Robinson hotdog meme from the lot of them.

I love it when billionaires like Jason Calacanis feel like they can lecture the rest of us on "getting by with less" or "doing it ourselves." My retirement will depend on social security and medicare to supplement my meager savings. Screw this guy and his "up by your bootstraps" bullshit.

I'm rewatching Twin Peaks with my kids, and it's really incredible that this show -- even in its most conventional moments -- was ever on broadcast television.
