Easing into retirement while keeping an eye on an eroding democracy
My distaste for Aaron Rodgers is so intense that I actively pulled for Shedeur Sanders today. And only today.

Confirmed case of measles near my county. An infant. I can't express the depth of my disappointment in the administration and parents who believe the nonsense spewed.

Happy solstice to those who celebrate. I got a henge for my rock garden and am looking forward to more daylight hours.

Zach Nunn sent out an email saying he was ready to get back to work.
He ought to be after sitting on his thumbs for 43 days while collecting full pay, secure in his government provided healthcare while families were forced to seek help at food banks and forego medical treatment.

We need a change.

Never been happier to own a Chevy EV. Dumping a trillion dollars on Elon is like pounding sand into a rat hole.

Proof he doesn't give a damn about you is the evidence that he doesn't care about his own inner circle
This guy doesn’t give a damn…about any other human being. He doesn’t even pretend like he does. He…is a suit full of BS…and a little of his own.

I hate the library trope (shush) used in the GEICO commercial. Clearly made by someone who hasn't visited a library in their adulthood. They should go. Libraries can be vibrant.

This feed is a festering pile of Trump photos and videos. Please, for the love of democracy, cut off his oxygen.

You can really see the Trump effect at the Ryder Cup. So much winning, it has infected our golfers.

The light of constitutional democracy can be dimmed far too easily
What must the world think of this country now?

To all those that said, "don't worry, he'll surround himself with smart people."

Do you understand yet how wrong you were?

Brought back a treat from Vermont. It was great to meet Don and hear his story.

The army, under orders from Washington, fire toward a boat in Lake Champlain. It is unclear at this time if the fishermen were over their limit, smuggling rum, or just out enjoying a sunny day.

Drove from Iowa to Vermont via Canada. The two days north of the border were pleasantly void of political signs. That said, Vermont, you are awesome. NY State - what's wrong with you?

Played Brewster Ridge and Fox Run Meadows back to back yesterday. It was a bit much but fit the time available. 🥏

Had a fun round of disc golf at Bronte Creek Provincial park. Thank you to John Macleod for guiding me around the course. Great guy and a good day out.

Invoice for parts at a local manufacturing company said the parts were "Proudly Made in America" and just below that was a surcharge "to cover tariffs"
Tell me again who is paying for this buffoonery.

Him: Do I have to work 8 hours today to get holiday pay?
Me: That's what the note says.
Him: But, do I, like, have to WORK 8 hours.
Me: (shrug)

Our jr. senator has publicly stated that she figures we're going to die anyway. So to paraphrase Scrooge, we should get on with it and decrease the surplus population. Joni hates Iowans.
Call your reps - Ds and Rs - and tell them to publicly demand the resignation/firing of RFK, Jr. Tell them if you die of COVID, they will personally be responsible if they don't do something about this.

NEWS: CVS, the largest pharmacy chain in the country, is currently not offering Covid vaccines in 16 states and DC — even to people who meet the new FDA criteria — because the CDC hasn't signed off and isn't expected to do so (if it does so) for at least three weeks.

My neighbors are watching Faux News and discussing George Soros at a volume which easily crosses the 150 foot gap between our houses. Send thoughts and prayers.
