Anyone following me should know that I just post about what is interesting to me at that particular moment. I try to be thoughtful, but I can’t guarantee that will be apparent to anyone outside myself.

He’s just over-rated in the purist sense of the term. There’s a reason he couldn’t unseat Ewers and they used a really small set of plays when they did bring him in. His team being significantly less talented at key spots this year doesn’t help either.

He’s not an unknown quantity at this point. Could he suddenly get better feet and throwing mechanics? I guess. But nothing about this Longhorn team makes me think they’re on the cusp of a playoff season. I don’t dislike the kid at all, in fact I kind of feel bad for him (and Sark).

He’s a RS sophomore right? I assume we’re counting this year as part of that 1.5 years of good play? So he’ll take them to the playoffs next year? 🤔

Radical centrist Arch take: He has already flopped relative to his billing. At best he'll turn in 1.5 seasons of good play before leaving college football. He will not meet expectations. But he'll still be pretty good and take Texas to at least one playoff w/ above-average QB numbers

Started seeing game updates for the Flyers the other day and I don’t think I’m prepared for more of *that* yet.

Doesn’t happen often, but I’m rooting for you here, Longhorns. You have a good school. You’re going to have to stand up if you want to keep it.

A new large-scale analysis of existing research in Review of Educational Research finds that school-provided social and emotional learning programs improve students’ academic achievement in addition to their social and emotional development. Read about it here: www.aera.net/Newsroom/Soc...

Any reporting on the govt shutdown that fails to mention 1) Republicans are at home, 2) failure to confirm newly elected AZ rep, 3) ending the filibuster as a solution, 4) backpay is established law, is being intentionally negligent.

There’s a dude at our ES who parks basically in an intersection a block away from school, gets out, and walks 100 yards with his kid because he thinks he’s too good for drop-off line. If I lived on that street I’d be hopping mad.

Whewwwww. Started Fall Break off right with some baked goods and fresh sliced bacon from Evergreen butcher and baker. If you’re ever down in Kirkwood, drop by and check them out.

Exactly the type of kids you’d expect to find in a film tech class. Love them. 😂

One of my supervised teachers last year is from Wales and had a giant backlit horse skull up in her classroom when I went to observe her in January. The kids had decorated it and named it Eomer.

I'm surprising my wife with a Patty concert on Saturday. It's a gift for her... but I'm going to enjoy the hell out of it too.

A striking thing about articles I’ve read claiming to “study the effects” of generative AI on student writing skills and consumption of information is that (1) they nearly always find the effects are negative and (2) most “conclusions” are still written assuming that we must use AI, for some reason.

Coming from Houston where we shopped at Fiesta! we were just assuming that most cities had supermercados like that... and we do (Talpa) but Ingles was definitely not that sort of store. 😆
