THIS

"While Russia still possesses nuclear weapons and a large military, it does not measure up as a great power in virtually any category of military, economic, or science and technology indicators."
February 2, 2026 at 9:24 PM
"To help prevent a further deterioration of Russia’s economy and defense industrial base, Russia has leaned heavily on China. China-Russia trade reached nearly $250 billion in 2024, up from $190 billion in 2022.46 China has been Russia’s top trading partner since 2014"

China gaining more leverage.

The army that crawls.

"Russian battlefield fatalities are more than 17 times greater than fatalities in Afghanistan in the 1980s, 11 times greater than Russia’s First and Second Chechen Wars in the 1990s and 2000s, respectively, and over five times greater than all Russian and Soviet wars combined since World War II."
February 2, 2026 at 9:17 PM
"There were roughly 415,000 Russian casualties in 2025 alone, with an average of nearly 35,000 casualties per month."

This figure will increase as Russian forces slowly approach the Fortress Belt cities and defensive lines.
Which is why Ukraine must not give them away.

"Attrition warfare is characterized by high casualties, massive expenditures of matériel, and limited movement of front lines. Attrition can be distinguished from maneuver warfare, by maximizing speed and refraining from bloody set-piece battles."

Drones changed the pace of battle in Ukraine.

"and Russia continues to fall behind in key technologies such as AI. Russia had a grand total of zero companies in the top 100 list of technology companies in the world as measured by market capitalization."
February 2, 2026 at 9:10 PM
"Russia is becoming a second- or third-rate economic power. Its economy is showing strains because of the war, though it has not buckled. Russian manufacturing is declining, consumer demand is weakening, inflation remains stubbornly high, and the country faces a labor crunch."
February 2, 2026 at 9:09 PM
"In the Pokrovsk offensive, for example, Russian forces advanced at an average rate of just 70 meters per day. This is slower than the most brutal offensive campaigns over the last century, including the notoriously bloody Battle of the Somme during World War I."
February 2, 2026 at 9:08 PM
"At the current monthly rate of advance in Ukraine, it would take Russian forces over 152 years to capture the remaining 80 percent of Ukraine, if Russia can sustain massive personnel losses indefinitely."

Well that's just it, isn't it.
Russia cannot sustain such massive losses forever.

It was a total fabrication.
Pretty much describes the Russian army.

The older T-64 tanks vulnerability to drones is basically no more than the same drone vulnerability of more modern tanks.
All tanks have thin top armor.

"While headlines don't paint a flattering picture of the Leopard 2, it's still among the best tanks in the world.
And critically, it's provided huge survivability for the crews using it."

* huge survivability for the crews *

I've seen videos of them getting hit by multiple drones and still going.

"Britain's Challenger 2 is also complex to operate and maintain, plus, Ukrainian troops complain that it's heavy and sinks in the mud.
It also requires two sets of tools because the turret uses metric measurements and the hull uses Imperial."

I've never read that before.
Funny.

" the American M1 Abrams' gas-turbine engine can actually be removed fairly easily. It's held in with 10 bolts and a well-trained crew can apparently do it in less than 20 minutes, but it does need a recovery vehicle."
