The defining struggle of our time is between those who defend the Enlightenment and those who wish to destroy it.

The problem with Marjorie Nazi Greene's "America First" is her inability to recognize America's best interests. Preserving the Atlantic alliance and the American post-war order *is* in America's best interests.

Trump issued a policy paper on European security in which he Trump-splained at them that they were in danger of becoming non-European majority countries. You don't have to spend much time in Europe to know he's F.O.S.

I'm less concerned about the Netflix/Warner Bros merger than I am with what Netflix will have to do to appease Trump, the fat mafia don with final approval.

The Anti-Federalists tried to warn us about Trump. But did we listen? No.

Based on the suspect's stature and stride, I thought the pipe bomber was a woman. He was described as "a man."

Via FT: "Women made up only 6.3 per cent of Russell 3000 CEOs from 2018 through 2025, yet 15.7 per cent of activist campaigns in this period targeted companies with female bosses, according to a report by The Conference Board shared exclusively with the Financial Times."

JD Vance wants Americans to have more babies. So does Elon Musk. Do you know who is utterly unconcerned about the number of babies Americans are having? Americans.

In 1989, George H. W. Bush nominated former Texas senator John G. Tower to be Secretary of Defense. During confirmation hearings, it became obvious that he was a heavy drinker and the Senate blocked his nomination. Six Republicans voted against him. The GOP was marginally better then.

As long as we're comparing Trump with Hitler, here's another similarity. Based on work by Brigitte Hamann and Thomas Weber, we know Hitler left Vienna and emerged from the First World War without any documented antisemitism. He developed that trait in the beer halls in response to crowd support.
There were tentative plans to get Trump on the road to support the Big Beautiful Bill

But he instead focused on Gaza and Putin summit - and didn’t want to face questions when Epstein scandal exploded

While it's nice that rural Georgians are voting for Democrats for the first time in their lives, it shouldn't come at the expense of progress. Build data centers but make their owners assume all the costs associated with them.

The best way to improve the affordability of New York City is to increase its housing stock. Supply and demand isn't just an X your econ prof drew on a blackboard, it's the law. To do that Mamdani will have to overcome Nimbyism. If he can manage that, I'll be impressed.
