I used to play in a kind of pick up league that had a hearing impaired player. The refs threw a second puck on the ice to indicate that the whistle had been blown. I did not know this for my first game and wow was I confused!

Come and learn-- you've likely seen his stuff but too few know his name. He was a legend. May his memory be-- as with everyone murdered by the AIDS virus and systemic neglect around it -- for a revolution. ❤️‍🔥

Just bought a new laptop, old one was from 2012, always buy reconditioned phones, never upgrade until things don’t work/update anymore. Why waste your money?

The whole “differentiate yourself”/entrepreneurship culture has led this too. You don’t want to be rank and file you need to lead and influence. So disheartening.

And then there’s the massive pedophile ring exposed in our southern neighbour’s leadership that no one is talking about but the kids must know. After a full two years of kids being killed in Gaza and Sudan…what a time to be a child.

I taught Environmental Ethics in the naughts up until 2015 and as the outlook became more and more dire those conversations were more common. Now in secondary and kids are freaked about climate change and the jobs collapse.

They see it all. I’m somehow supposed to explain it to them and help the cope while not making them cynical. Also, motivate them to continue to keep going with environmental actions that they know won’t move the needle. It’s soul crushing.

It’s definitely the collective sentiment you speak of. Also the complete failure of anyone in leadership to do anything but window dressing. Working with teenagers in these times is particularly awful.
