Happy Winter solstice. Even in dark, cold days things still grow.

No one tells you when you start growing and gardening that you’ll think about the future A LOT. Or that you learn to appreciate the dark and cold months just as much as the bright and warm ones.

As winter solstice approaches, five “cats” (fifth behind the tree) have gathered around the hawthorn faerie tree in my garden. I can only assume this means the end times are approaching and personally speaking I am looking forward to the rest.

Three weeks ago, "patriot" Steven Baker stood behind a massive Israeli flag emblazoned with the words WE LOVE ISRAEL, chanting "we're not Gaza, we're Northern Ireland". This week he was welcomed by Dan Grundlé to the latest Fashbook group added to the ever growing pit of racist befriending groups.

Today he's bleating about doctors and nurses trained here leaving for other countries where they are paid more fairly, and the government having to bring in cheap labour to replace them.

It could be a full time job highlighting inconsistencies in the politics of local "citizen journalists". Unfortunately, despite claims we're all funded on the "far left", I have bills to pay. Four days ago this pudding-for-brains was celebrating FAIR PAY NOW posters being destroyed in Belfast...
