Hello, new followers! I'm a freelance comic book editor, currently working on MONSTRESS from Image. Previous projects include TWO GRAVES and MOTOR CRUSH, also from Image, and about a decade ago I was an assistant editor on a whole bunch of X-Men books. I'm always on the lookout for new projects!
Who is Mr. Fantasy and why does he look like a rejected Noel Fielding character?

Sorry I've been scarce here! Day job crunch time + general busy-ness + news overload has kept me off social media for a bit.

I've made all the components for my stuffed onion cups and all I need to do tomorrow is assemble, bring to a boil, and bake. That's my big contribution to my roommate's family's Thanksgiving (though I'll also help my roommate chop both yellow and sweet potatoes for her dishes).

I just got back from the touring production of Some Like It Hot and it was SO GOOD. A real shame it closed so quickly on Broadway. Everything that's great about the movie + new layers of identity that work beautifully.

I drove down to the lake to peer at the northern horizon but even with night sight on my camera I didn't really get much (or anything?). No aurora for me (or the others with the same idea).

This is a really beautiful article about gay sheep, fashion, and international queer solidarity.

Dems to people in the US: Fellas, it's too rough to feed ya.

I'm in Panera, trying to listen to the latest episode of Sarah Marshall's Satanic Panic podcast, but I have to turn my headphone volume way up...to drown out the woman at the next table ranting about demons into her phone.

I see Senate Dems decided to sink themselves to honor the 50th anniversary of the Edmund Fitzgerald.

I had a lovely weekend at a local Steampunk convention, drinking all the tea, but now we're back to the regularly scheduled political anxiety.

I was trying to tell my roommate about that girl who didn't recognize Wallace Shawn, and it turns out she 1) also doesn't know who he is, and 2) briefly got him mixed up with Morgan Wallen.

On top of the rest of the good news, my hometown kept Moms for Liberty candidates off the school board!

Very proud of NJ, especially considering the transphobic vitriol Republican PACs were texting everyone.

mamdani is human. he'll fuck up and fail, especially with a hostile press and the giant mess that is nyc's politics. but today is a great day for the brave women who told what cuomo did, and for those of us who care that it should matter. that power shouldn't go to those who hurt the poweless.
I'm happy that Mamdani won. But I won't let that get in the way of my celebrating Cuomo losing.

Still thinking about the Springsteen movie. It really captures the essential truth of his ouvre: you can never recapture what home (New Jersey) once meant, but your home will also never leave you, no matter where (Nebraska, California, Texas) you literally or metaphorically go.

I quite liked the movie! Jeremy Allen White's Resting Nervous Breakdown Face really helped sell it.
Off to see the Springsteen movie.

I tried to donate to a local food bank, but I hit an error message and had to try again. The second went through...and apparently, so did the first.

I have the money and it's not like I'm going to take it AWAY from a food bank, so I guess they're getting double what I intended!

Today I took a short hike into the arboretum and sat on a stump to read for a half hour and it was extremely restorative.

Yesterday I finally watched, and really enjoyed, I Saw the TV Glow, but I am truly befuddled by the presence of Fred Durst. (I suppose he IS a good representation of 90s/00s toxic masculinity, but.)

The 2025 version of Benjamin Coffin III would be embarrassingly all-in on AI art.

I genuinely don't know what to make of the cover of this week's Princeton Alumni Weekly being a Jim Lee drawing of MacKenzie Scott as Supergirl with the S as a dollar sign. (It's for a piece about her philanthropy, but, uh.)
