It's a terrible thing to hope to find a body, but in this case it's the only thing left for the family to hope for, as time has taken the chance of justice.

The Earl of Glencarne is clearly lying.
Extract of a Scots text that says the Earl of Glencarne pretended that there was no quarrel between him and the Earl of Eglintoun, despite the Earl of Glencarne allegedly killing the current Earl of Eglintoun's father.

This is a very welcome development indeed IF the recurrent costs of funding school librarians is fully budgeted. ‘A pile of books is no more a library than a crowd of soldiers is an army’ to quote Gabriel Naudé who figured this out … 400 years ago… www.theguardian.com/politics/202...

19th century insults:

‘He said that the pursuer was “a damned puppy and a low blackguard, a degraded, impertinent, base, vile, scurrilous, vicious, ill-conducted fellow, and utterly incapable of holding the honourable office of the Procurator Fiscal of Auchtermuchty.”

Related: my colleague gave me this (now somewhat battered) sticker for my work pass...
Circular sticker on the back of an ID holder. It's worn away at the edges but it says "Contains 100% pure nonsense"

Nope, it's just 100% Full Nonsense.

Yup, checked all those too, plus legislation citators hard copy etc. I think it's a definite nonsense, I just wonder who nonsensed it up in the first place.

Nothing in the hard copy collection of Acts either, so I'm 99% sure it's nonsense. I had wanted to see it to check its extent and see if it covered Scotland, which had a separate prison system/regulation, I believe.

Found this reference online: "In 1886 the Children In Prisons Act was passed by Parliament – ending the centuries-old practice of imprisoning children as young as six years of age in the nation’s Jails alongside adults."

However I can find absolutely zero evidence of such an Act ever existing.

Oooh, this might help me solve a small mystery! Perhaps some of these odd items are medlars!

You BETTER all appreciate how snazzy the books behind look, cos that was hours of work from my colleague and I to fit appropriate materials into historic shelves that all vary in height just enough to have made it a nightmare 😂
