I grunted in agreement, but as I sipped my martini, my attention lingered on the visitor. Beneath the moving strobe lights, the man smiled in greeting. He pulled back to exchange drowned-out words with Daisy, revealing a dark dress shirt with its two top buttons undone, black jeans, and a maroon bowtie. It was like he couldn’t decide whether to come dressed for a club, a business meeting, or a party, so he went with all three. The man’s smile slid to a more serious frown, his hand shooting to the knot of his bowtie, tightening it just below his throat. Daisy nodded, shifting her gaze in my direction and pointed. The man’s attention followed. I gritted my teeth. Great.

I know I do! Lately, I've been contemplating diving into YA horror or fantasy instead of just adult fiction. I even bought the Save the Cat! Writes a Young Adult Novel, so we'll see how it goes!
