This has been the vicious fucking thing about the "Jobseeker Benefit" ever since Paula Bennett coined it in 2013

In addition to keeping people in poverty it's been a term of propaganda forcing us all to accept the frame of welfare as economic obligation instead of social support

It was political violence when Peters almost singlehandedly created so many persistent death threats it forced a takatāpui MP out of office. It’s political violence that rangatahi in Waitaha are now nearly a year without access to essential and time-critical healthcare bc of the actions of this govt
