Since discovering this via FB a few years ago, we have done our twist on it. We go to a local bookshop a few days beforehand, buy books and chocolates and then stay in on Christmas Eve and alternate reading, talking, testing chocolates, and eating Chinese food🥰
In Iceland, on Christmas Eve, people give each other books so they can spend the evening drinking cocoa & reading. It’s called, Jolabokaflod, the Christmas book flood. I’ve never been more in love with Iceland than I am right now ♥️♥️

We’re saddened to hear about the passing of poetry great and Black Arts Movement icon, Nikki Giovanni.
According to NPR, she passed away today, following her third cancer diagnosis.
She was 81 years old.
