You're not "late to the party" when you enjoy an old book for the first time. Books don't have an RSVP deadline. The party started long ago, and guests show up when they're meant to.
SCAM ALERT AUTHORS! A book club emails to let you know your book has been chosen. They express an interest in having you join a chat at the end. When you respond, they let you know there is a SMALL FEE and would you like to move forward with next steps? GTFO ‼️⬇️

Coffin Moon by @keithrosson.bsky.social is called the best modern vampire story ever by @stephenking.bsky.social I saw Joe Hill on his King Sorrow tour (which is a new favorite book), he had big praise for it too. They are not wrong. This book is a modern classic

The Thing (1982) is a Thanksgiving movie.

Thought of it while prepping a Friendsgiving turkey today.

„Quiet, Piggy!“ Just think about that for a minute, and what it means to live in a time when a President can assault a woman in public like that without any consequences.
It‘s quite a testimony to the age of regression we live in.

Comey: "I'm grateful the court ended the case against me, which was a prosecution based on malevolence & incompetence... I was inspired by the career people who refused to be part of this travesty. It cost some of them their jobs, but it preserved their integrity, which is beyond price"

With all the money we save boycotting everything, it sure feels good to walk into an independently owned business and drop a large chunk of change. I bought a book and 2 albums from a local record/book store and they thanked me like 10 times. Man, it really means a lot to them. Fuck corporate stores

Swalwell: Kristi Noem and Tom Homan, you should familiarize yourselves with this room. Get to know that witness chair — you’re going to be parked in it for a long time. Accountability is coming.

Tim Robinson is a comic genius. And those who know, know. We watched I Think You Can Leave, we were with him for the Detroiters, we loved the Friendship movie and now The Chair Company is giving us so much WEIRD, so much UNHINGED paranoia and hyper fixation! He can do no wrong.

I chose ladies first this year so my 10 before the end is comprised of books by men. King Sorrow is one of my favorite books now, Coffin Moon is shaping up to be another one, and I might chase them both with King of Ashes! I'm a glutton for heartache and devastation doing them back to back like this

Coons on Epstein files: "My hunch is that AG Bondi, having just been ordered on social media by the president to open an investigation into a series of high-profile Dems, will promptly say, 'No, there's an ongoing investigation, we can't disclose any of this,' and the president will back that up."

Wow 😮 A federal magistrate judge overseeing the criminal case against former F.B.I. director James B. Comey just issued a ruling stating that “government misconduct may have tainted the grand jury proceedings” that led to his indictment. We expected this, but here it is.

we watched Weapons last night and I loved it! Scary, suspenseful, weird, campy, funny, eerie and unpredictable--just so much fun. I always enjoy magic when it's not explained. Josh Brolin was great--John Candy's girlfriend in Uncle Buck as Aunt Gladys was a treat! Don't miss it

Important to understand the Epstein stuff and the fascism and the corruption are, in a lot of ways, really all the same story from different angles: powerful men who can and do abuse vulnerable people around them because they can, and because systems of elite accountability catastrophically failed
