After printing with oil-based inks, I use a light spray of Zest-it Printmakers Cleaner or orange cleaner—keeping it on the plate, not in the air. 🌬️

For water-washable inks, just use water and a drop of washing-up liquid. Spray, wipe, and you’re done! 💧

Getting Grounded in Hard Ground Etching!

In this video, I’m prepping a metal plate with hard ground, ready to scratch, scribble, and experiment with every tool I can find! From fine crosshatching to bold, wavy lines, this plate will be a playground of textures for my printmaking book.

✨ Printmaking Tip: Prep your intaglio paper in just a few steps! Soak for 20+ minutes, squeegee the water off on the wall, then blot gently. This saves your blotting paper and keeps it in great condition! Tear down the paper after printing to get clean, torn edges without worrying about inky fingers
