Congratulations to Dr Amy McQuire from QUT for being awarded a DECRA ARC grant for a project which argues for a new form of scholarly journalism, grounded in conceptions of Black Justice, as a critical intervention needed to address the ongoing media misreporting of Indigenous affairs.

Australian Journalism Review is calling for papers for Special Edition: "The Walkley Awards: Examining a 70-Year Legacy as Australia’s Top National Prize for Journalism”.

New Zealand is at risk of developing “news deserts” – communities with little or no access to local journalism – according to Dr Gavin Ellis from the Koi Tū Centre for Informed Futures. News deserts weaken democracy, reduce social cohesion & increase misinformation.
