This is Rock’s Oscar push. Or his first one, rather. He’s slimmed down massively now to go after non-musclehead roles.
Anyway a buddy has seen the film and said it’s deserving of the accolades. I’m looking forward to seeing it.

What’s another term for a creative person who puts things on paper?
“I’ve never been a writer. Creative and booking TV, I would never consider myself a writer. I don’t consider myself a writer in the way that I think that Hollywood and people look at writers. Not a big fan of that term. I think we’re creative people that put things on paper.”
