Shows can have text and subtext and one of the more annoying aspects of this discussion is a motivated, often political projection of what the subtext "really is," which tells you more about the critic than the art.

Sir, is it your position that heads of state should not receive pardons
December 11, 2025 at 6:47 PM
Trump's version of this is "this guy is straight out of central casting"
December 11, 2025 at 12:56 PM
And ambassador to China and the UN and vice president. You could discount cia and he still has the best resume.

Atlanta erasure
November 26, 2025 at 1:28 AM
Damn, 141. Really makes you think.
November 25, 2025 at 12:57 PM
lol at this one
November 20, 2025 at 11:59 PM
Can you explain the epidemic of prepending your post with "I don't know man"
November 20, 2025 at 10:45 PM
People aren't storming the capitol for JD Vance.
November 19, 2025 at 11:15 PM
Are people "from" Minnesota but move to Manhattan positioned to comment on city life? Why, or why not? If so, does your comment about Will still stand?
November 19, 2025 at 4:53 PM
If you want to get into the weeds, he's not FROM Minnesota at all, but he lives and ran for elected office in Minneapolis.
November 19, 2025 at 4:51 PM
skill issue
November 19, 2025 at 4:41 PM
Minneapolis is comparably sized in both city population and metro population to San Francisco, Boston, and DC. I suspect people from those places would be well-positioned to comment on city life. But not Minneapolis, for whatever reason.
November 19, 2025 at 4:35 PM
What he means is "if you discount cities that aren't expensive, housing is very expensive in cities"
November 19, 2025 at 4:33 PM
"Will you’re from Minnesota, I don’t think you’re well-positioned to opine on city living."

Ok, well positioned then.
November 19, 2025 at 4:30 PM
Then please explain why a person who lives in Minneapolis is not in a position to opine on big city living
November 19, 2025 at 4:27 PM
You said he lives in Minnesota and cannot opine on big city living, despite literally living in one of the places you included in your statistics.
November 19, 2025 at 4:26 PM
Minneapolis metro area population is about 3.75 million people. And Minneapolis is included in that 1/3 so what are you talking about
November 19, 2025 at 4:17 PM
Favorite moment: Paul Rudd saying "Great record" as John Lennon
November 19, 2025 at 3:46 PM
I'm very curious what it is you think I said. Paying a developer to build a house is pretty commonly referred to as building a house
November 19, 2025 at 12:00 AM
Ok?
November 18, 2025 at 11:53 PM
I know you think this is a funny joke, but there are millions of people living in wealthy crowded suburbs that in the 80s were dirt roads.
November 18, 2025 at 11:50 PM
Yes it means you can go all over the country and find housing commensurate with income levels. Just not around the top tier metros.
November 18, 2025 at 10:44 PM
I live just outside of Atlanta, like 25 minutes from Piedmont Park. It is not LA but it is also not a cultural or economic wasteland. We can do this for dozens and dozens of cities, big legitimate ones! With names you recognize.
