tl;dr - I hate DHL.

And I have no idea how the package even made it inside since anyone bringing it in from outside should’ve noticed the address didn’t match.

It was sitting on the shelf inside that building. I don’t understand how this happened. The address is clearly above both entrances, so the delivery driver was obviously at the wrong building.

So I walked across the parking lot to another building in my apartment complex (that has a different address), and sure enough, the entrance matched the photo. Luckily someone was picking up their mail when I got there to let me in because I didn’t see my package outside.

DHL left the package outside (even though I left instructions and a code for getting inside). But what stood out to me was that the call box in the photo was on a different wall than the one at my building’s entrance.

Ok, I think it has something to with preventing smoke from a potential fire rising through the stairwell so that when the green thingy closes off the stairs from the lobby, the door provides people coming down an escape route and a smaller opening for the smoke to pass through.
