▪️ If it is stabilized, Thursday morning we’ll turn on additional pumps, which will increase the flow in the pipe.
▪️ It will take another 24 hours to stabilize again.
▪️ If that has happened, Friday morning we will turn on the final pump.

🚧 Construction update
▪️ This morning we turned on the first set of pumps which begins the gradual introduction of water flow into the pipe.
▪️ We are now allowing the system to stabilize.

▪️ Crews have collected water samples from the refilled feeder main and confirmed it meets or exceeds drinking water standards set by Alberta Health Services and Alberta Environment and Protected Areas.

Our focus is public safety today—and the necessary long-term fixes to stop this happening again.

I’ve responded confirming that Calgary will cooperate fully, provide the requested documentation, and keep Calgarians informed. I appreciate the Minister’s support for our crews and the collaborative relationship.

➡️ Road Closures
▪️A single eastbound lane on 16 Ave N.W. east of Sarcee Trail is open, along with access to 16th Avenue from Sarcee Trail.
▪️Work to repair the roadway has begun, paving will begin over the weekend. Westbound lanes remain closed for repairs.

▪️We are taking steps to protect the community in case there is another break. We have finished removing sections of the flood berm in Bowness, and a temporary barrier is now in place along a section of pathway in Parkdale.

🚧 Construction update
▪️Today we are continuing to refill the pipe. This is a multi-day process. Our next steps include water quality testing and making sure the system is stable.
