⚠️ On Jan. 10, our water use trended down to 493 ML, putting us in the strained zone. This is a step in the right direction, but we still need your help to save water. Keep taking action like skipping flushes, washing full loads only and limiting showers to 3 minutes.

Progress continued today at the impacted site on 16 Avenue N.W.
➡️ Crews have finished backfilling and are now rebuilding the road above the pipe. Work is also underway on 16 Avenue, with repaving starting tomorrow.

🚨On Jan. 9, our water use was 504 ML which is 19 ML above the sustainable level of 485 ML. We are still experiencing a strain on our distribution system, limiting our ability to produce treated water, refill underground reservoirs overnight and move water to everyone.

The Bearspaw Feeder Main Independent review is complete. It examined what happened during the 2024 incident, why it happened and what changes are needed to prevent this type of incident from re-occurring.

On Monday, January 5 Calgarians used 514 million litres (ML) of water, well above the safe zone of 485 ML. We continue to urge residents to conserve water while crews work tirelessly repairing the water main break.

Calgary we're still in the water red zone. We need your URGENT help to buy a little more time for the repair. Please do everything you can to conserve. The City has asked employees who can to work from home. Employers, please do the same to help reduce strain on our system.
