Conservative Member of Parliament for Calgary Centre; elected 2019; re-elected 2021 & 2025. Focus on energy, environment, economy. Love the mountains, hiking and biking, and music. Zero tolerance for profanity in posts.
1/2: The House will rise today or tomorrow to allow for six weeks of constituency-based work, and a few days of rest for the holidays. We return to Ottawa January 26.

Before leaving Ottawa, I recorded my annual Christmas message which will be posted December 24 and 25.

1/2: I was interviewed on CBC's The Eyeopener about the Conservative attempt to get the Liberals to formally commit to the pipeline MoU.

I made the point that delays are baked into the MoU: it is essentially an agreement to make seven more agreements.

1/2: I participated in the Canada-Kosovo Friendship Group meeting with the Ambassador of Kosovo, Adriatik Kryeziu. Kosovo declared its independence from Serbia on February 17, 2008 and 101 UN states recognize it as an independent state, although Serbia still considers it a province.

1/2: On November 12, Catherine Ford published a column in the Calgary Herald in which she asked what I do for veterans beyond honouring them on November 11. I submitted a response to the Herald, which they have chosen not to publish. You can read it on my website:

1/2: I attended the Open House for the Inn From the Cold. The Inn helps families find shelter - an estimated 3,000 Calgarians without a home are part of a family, with children under 18 making up 60% of that number. On any given night, it is estimated that 200 families are without shelter.

1/3: I participated in the "Unblock the Pipeline Gridlock" conference hosted by the Indian Resource Council.

I am pictured with my colleagues Ellis Ross (MP, Skeena—Bulkley Valley in BC - where a pipeline terminus would likely be located) and Billy Morin (MP, Edmonton Northwest).

1/3: I am pleased to be one of the seconders for Bill C-234, from Ziad Aboultaif MP (Edm Manning), which began debate in Nov.

1/4: PM said a remarkable thing. Asked if he has recently talked to Trump about tariffs he said (yes, this is a quote): "Who cares? It’s a detail. I spoke to him. I’ll speak to him again when it matters....I don’t have a burning issue to speak with the president about right now."

Today I called out the Liberals for creating a regulatory environment that’s too complex, too opaque, and too unpredictable.
Nutrien, a Canadian champion in potash, announced a $1B investment in the U.S. instead of Canada. Every time investment leaves, Canadian jobs go with it.

Recently spoke with the Petroleum Joint Venture Association about Canada’s energy future. We discussed demand trends, fiscal realities, and why clear policies matter for responsible development and economic stability. Great exchange with industry leaders on what’s next for energy security.

Honoured to join Calgarians today at the Jubilee Auditorium, the Cenotaph, and the Royal Canadian Legion to mark #RemembranceDay. This year we reflect on 80 years since WWII ended and Calgary’s proud military legacy. #LestWeForget. #CalgaryCentre

🧵1/6: Last week, PM Mark Carney told a room of students that they will have to "sacrifice", for "some time", as he rejigs the economy.

I've been saying since the day I got elected that Liberal out of control spending, and resultant deficits & debt, will be carried by our children & grandchildren.
