And it continued, I remember as an apprentice on a course shown a faulty reed relay, a small fly in it (inside the glass tube). They just could not work out how it got in through the manufacturing process and but an example of "anything can happen".

We were thrilled to welcome New Scientist to #TNMOC to film EDSAC. As project lead Andrew Herbert put it, "We're kind of doing archaeology" - piecing together how this pioneering machine operated in pursuit of a working rebuild.
