First time playing Dominant Soecies by @gmtgames.bsky.social

Spent most of the game feeling behind as the lowly insects....then realized maybe I just need to expand and ended up with a large late game come back and win.

Developer plan vs a resident asked AI to come up with a different plan.

They must want higher taxes?

We need more whiteboards in the office. Today's lesson is on transit delay and bike conflict management.

Every time I visit family here...Im just shocked Holland is the same population as Sun Prairie.

It is wild how much more dense Sun Prairie is in relation. And I wouldnt call SP a dense city. Google map screenshot of the same scale.

I dont watch a lot of movies...but this has been one of the better movies Ive seen in a long time.
January 3, 2026 at 1:19 AM
Also, Holland is the population of Sun Prairie and yet traffic always seems so much worse here. I really need someone to compare the two cities and explain why.
January 2, 2026 at 9:43 PM
Ahh Holland, MI...where you'll see three or four different ways to treat permissive left turns.

First time playing the Age of Steam Detroit Bankrupcy map. All three of us agreed it was better than the base map.

The mounting debt you owe keeps the pressure on in a good way.

Getting rid of some permissive/protected dual left turn operations for protected only this week on Wisconsin Ave.

#2 Cap Square Signal Coordination

Signals around the square are just coordinated for Route A/B bus movements...straightforward and easy but very effective!

Don't over think it!

#5 Peer to Peer on University Ave

Definitely one of my favorites. The P2P capabilities of controllers allows for a very cheap and effective 'in house' TSP operation which is more powerful than centralized TSP. But requires comms, programming, and rigid operations.
December 21, 2025 at 7:32 PM
Ok, here's my top 5 TSP operations in Madison. Notes on each to come starting with #5

5. Peer-to-Peer (Univ. Ave.)
4. East Washington & North
3. East Washington & Mendota
2. Cap City Square Coordination
1. Mineral Point & Whitney Way
