As long as the seals don't pass over the pits you'll probably be ok. If they do you can fill them with epoxy and sand them down flush with the tube using very fine sandpaper or emery cloth.

I got my Sophie at seven weeks old. I took her outside every four hours day and night and she was housebroken in 2.5 weeks. That lost sleep was worth it.

Can't argue with that, even though my current ride is carbed. The difference for me is when something goes wrong, I can tune/fix a carb; with FI I just throw up my hands and give someone my credit card.

It's very freeing to stop caring if your bike gets dirty. It really extends the riding season.
